About Joyce

Joyce Agius is a University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Physics and Chemistry, and a minor in Mathematics.

Joyce started her career teaching Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to students preparing for entry into University.  She spent a year in England, furthering her education and working on a project to enhance the bus service using computer technology.

After teaching for a few years, Joyce moved to Information Technology (IT) where she started as a programmer analyst and worked her way up to Manager and subsequently Director.  She worked in the IT departments of various insurance companies for many years, during which time she trained and gained much experience in inter-personal skills, negotiations, and management of both people and projects.  During this time, she successfully initiated and implemented many initiatives of varying technologies, complexity and budgets, adhering to legislation which invariably rules the Insurance Industry and products.  Her last role in IT was Director of Applications Development at the Co-operators Insurance Company.  In this role, she worked with her business community, various legislative bodies, third party vendors, and suppliers. She planned and directed the work of her department of managers, consultants, developers, and analysts working on Auto, Fire, and Commercial policy and claims systems.

Following her years in IT, Joyce’s interest was sparked by Commercial Real Estate.  She trained and obtained her Real Estate license and is now actively working in this field, focusing on investment properties, lands, and commercial structures in the greater Toronto area.  Joyce is a member of the following associations:
